Can I use RCR-V3 for my GPS?

Is this battery also usefull for continuous low-drain purposes?

My GPS uses about 190 mA so usually I get about 10-12 hours of continuous usage from a set of 2200 NiMH batteries.

Could I use this RCR-V3 longer than that continuously? I mean if it would do 15-20 hours that would be ideal!

(Obviously a pro would be that the RCR-V3 works better at low temps and has a longer shelf life when charged.)

As far as I can tell from the photo's it will physically fit in my GPS.

hey if your interested ecost has a 128mb SD card for less then $20 after rebates. i just ordered one up for the plat. it allows me to put some fairly large map sets in.

have you upgraded to the newest firmware 5.12? everything almost works on as originally designed with it.

it adds the autorouting capability for their new streets software and fixes quite a few little niggles like memory card recognition and handling.

My SD card is bigger than yours! 256Mb!

And I use 5.12. For DirectRoute later on, but 5.12 adds some nice stuff I use already, like total distance of route etc.

And I am a regular poster at

Keep me posted on the battery though; I would love 15+ hours of non-stop operation!

actually i keep the 512mb in my pocket PC. for $20 you can't go wrong. i usually keep a 64mb in the plat. magellan just sent my directroute out yesterday to me. i'll let you know if its worth the effort. i just wish it it had a road lock feature like my garmin 176. it tends to like to wander a bit.
