Default Canon PowerShot SD10 and PowerShot SD100 same NB-3L battery

This is so confusing about the battery compatibility. I bought on ebay a replacement for the NB-3L battery for my Canon PowerShot SD10. Turn out when I ask the guy he said the manufactuer told him it is only compatible with the Canon PowerShot SD100. I called up Canon and they told me the SD10 and SD100 uses the same exact NB-3L Lithion battery. I wonder why some NB-3L only go with SD100, and some go both SD10 and SD100. Anyone have same experience or any solution? Hey Steve, you think you can figure this out? Thanks..

The SD10 is newer so the manufacturer may not be aware of it yet or had time to test it. If both cameras use the same battery then what you got should work in either one.

Beware of those eBay "replacement lithium batteries" -- they're not all the same quality as OEM batteries. Some are less capacity and some do not have the same internal charging safety and shutoff protection. There's usually a reason those batteries are so much cheaper than the brand name ones - FYI.
