well control dials arnt a prob it would only be for a nikon d3000 and ik the shutter button on the grip doesnt have the ability to do a half press foucus cause none of the ones for my camera do just want it for the 2 extra batterys and also to extend my grip on my camera since i have bigger hands lol

Got a battery grip makes abig difference on how I hold my d3000 it makes it alot more comfortable for my big hands

You are right about improving the comfort on handling the camera with a battery grip. I never take mine off from my Canon XSi since I bought it.

I just picked up a 3rd party one off amazon for like$30 its a mm bigger than the body width wise but it still makes a big difference well worth buying
