Default Generic Batteries - Safe?

Are the generic batteries that sell on eBay for your specific camera - safe? Recommend? Good experience?

Yes, provided you buy from a reputable dealer. I have bought batteries for my Canon from Amazon.com...Can't recall the mfr name. Careful you don't buy a used one that only lasts a few weeks, if at all

not necessarily.

i heard of a lot of good stories, and also the bad ones.

therefore, buy from those with warranty guaranteed, keep yr invoice..etc

I would not buy my product from that ecommerce because it looks very unprofessional and incomplete.

Two Ebay batteries have worked great for me in my Canon S30.

I bought one replacement BN-V428 battery from e-bay. It didn't work, but the seller promise to replace with a new one.
