Default ENEL1 alternatives?

I am my handle and am trying to get the most charge for my buck. Anyone have experience/advice regarding the following (or others)?

Maha which I've heard bad things about
DigiCom
B&H Power2000 which appears to be the same as SterlingTek

I'm recently used the new Energizer Nimh 1850mah on my trip to New Orleans, a set of 6AA last through my 5days trip and I tooks several pictures via the monitor on. When I returned home, the batt indicator show no sign of low battery warning (with full three bars). I bought the 1 hours charger (came with 4 AA) and two additional packs (4AA pack), the charger charges 4 AA batt within 55 min..and you can get them at Best Buy...

i bought the optional 6AA batterypack for my 5700 ($140) and 12 1800 mAh (two sets plus chargers $14 per 4 and $30 for the charger) AA batteries. I took over 200 pictures and didn't charge them for over 10 days.

Default 4500 - AA option?

I just bought the CP4500 (upgrade from my used 990) and I have a mess of GP1800 rechargeables.

Is there a AA option for the 4500?

Also it appears that the SterlingTek batteries are the same (or at least made by the same company) as the B&H and Battery Barn ones.

Intersting!

Default More research, more questions...

In reading the literature that comes with the ENEL1 in my camera there is a warning not to charge a fully charged battery.

This concerns me.

This indicates that the charger isn't a 'smart charger'. I've been spoiled by the Maha 204's capabilities.

Now what charger do I get?!?!?!

The only AA battery option for the CP4500 would be to use an external battery pack.

And it would seem that the way the instructions of use for the Nikon supplied battery and charger are worded, that indeed it is not a smart
charger.......dissaponted!
