I have the CX4230 and my battery cover is cracked and in half now. Before it got so bad, I brought it into a camera shop to see if it could be fixed. The first thing the guy said to me is 'you're a lefty, aren't you?' I am a lefty. He claimed that happens to be a common break with lefties, and unfortunately, no one is making a decent left-handed camera. He also said it would be less expensive for me to buy a new camera than to fix this one, and he taped it for me. It's a pain in the butt with having to change the batteries, and to make sure it actually holds it in place. The camera has turned off at the most inopportune times, and is so frustrating..

Now, I've had my eye on the CX7530, but looking at it online, it appears that I'm going to end up cracking the battery door again....shutter button over the battery door side. I'm at a loss. I can't afford a $300 camera everyyear.
