I have a Hahnel-producedbattery whichis soldfor use inthe FZ10, but I have just obtained an FZ20. TheHahnel battery looks physically identical to the FZ20 type, the only apparent difference being that the FZ10 one is rated as 7.4V 700mAh while the FZ20 is 7.2V 680mAh.

Can I use this in the FZ20?

Sounds reasonable.

Check with member here (Panasonic or Panasonic Bob?) who works for Panasonic.

I suggest that you send him an IM.

Good luck

According to Panasonic, they list the same part number for the battery on both the FZ1- and FZ20, so your generoc should work in the FZ20. That being said, some people have reported that generic (non-Panasonic brand) batteries that worked fine in the FZ10 don't seem to fit into the battery compartment of the FZ20 easily. It seems some batteries make for a tight fit when you try to slip them into the FZ20. It doesn't happen with all genreics, just some.

As far as the difference in the capacity ratings, you should get a little more life out of the 700mAh than you will from the stock 680mAh, assuming you have them both charged to capacity.
