I'm having trouble getting the batteries for this camera to get a complete charge. Even if I charge it overnight, the battery warning light starts blinking shortly after I start recording. In addition, the CHG light on the camera does not come on when I charge the battery, even though the battery does seem to take a charge.

I'm experiencing the same behavior from both the battery that came with the camera as well as an aftermarket battery I bought as a backup.

Sony suggested I send them the camera, which is now less than one month beyond its 3 month warranty. But the $216 flat charge is almost half what I paid for the thing in June.

Any help out there?

In another message here, another person is complaining about using a Sony charger...read through the replies they got...their message is titled, "NI-MH Problem".

Thanks. I read that thread and it is somehwat similar, although I have Li-ion batteries. I suppose the cheapest first alternative would be to buy a charger.

Or find a good "friendly" camera store who would be willing to help you out to find out where the problem lies.
