Looking on Ebay (UK) for batteries for my Ixus 40 (SD300) there are quite a few available from Hong Kong for around £10 inc shipping or around £15 for 2 compared to the UK price of £28 forjust 1 original one the savings are huge.

Does anybody know if these battteries are safe to use as they are very cheap compared to originals there are loads available for every camera out there (or so it seems!)

Thanks

Hi Deanos :bye:

Have a look here,

I've bought a few batteries off them and they've all been fine, UK based and £2.99 shipping

i bought 2 bp-511 batteries off ebay for $18 with shipping, so far they both perform as good if not a little better(higher mah) than the battery that came with my Canon pro1. radio shack sells a almost identical one aftermarket. it retails for over $30. as to being as well made , i cant be sure, they look and perform like the originals, im guessing if one goes bang in my canon it wont be covered under Canon usa warrenty though. so i spose thats the main risk. :?
