Hi,

Can anyone confirm that the best way to prolong the life of an InfoLITHIUM battery is to not allow it to discharge fully frequently.

Is the correct approach to top the battery up frequently?

Thanks

Here's an article written a few years ago regarding InfoLITHIUM batteries. I think that it still applies today.

I heard from a friend that things like lithium ion batteries should be topped up whenever it can be. And this friend's friend actually worked in the development of batteries like those. So yah...you're right. They last longer if they don't get used right up, then recharged again. They're better to be kept topped up whenever possible.

This is different for things like nicads and things, which have memory effect.

The NP-FC11 infoLithium batteryin my Sony DSC-V1 goes from fully charged to fully discharged within1to 2 hours of shooting,so while this knowledge may be of value to some, for meit's strictly academic!
