I have just purchased a new canon powershot a310. I got it out the box, read the instructions put the batteries and the flash card in and got 1 photo out of it before it said 'change batteries'. (the batteries are brand new, tried 2 different types). Any help would be appreciated.

I once had an A310 powershot, there's no doubt that it's battery consumption is tremendous, it was eating battery power as the elephant drinks from a water cup, but i dunno why is this problem with the power u're facing... it's most probably a problem with the camera, not the batteries, try to get rechargeable batteries, fully recharge them , and use them .... if they give u any result beyound 200shots without saying (battery low) , the problem will be from the camera not the batteries...

Thanks mate. I'll give the rechargeables a try. It's a total pain when something new goes bad.
