I've been recently looking around on ebay planning to buy a batterycharger for my digital voice recorder which uses and drains AAA's like a mofo. After surfing the web I was pretty set on buying the MAHA C401FS but I happened to come across this link

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...77255&rd=1

on ebay that has a chart comparison that says their charger is better than the MAHA C401 and saves me 10 bucks as well. Any thoughts out there? Especially those who have used the POWATECH brand. Thanks

Xiao,

The Powatech battery charger appears to be an inferior Mexican knock-off of a MAHA Powertech unit. There's no website for Powatech, and a Google search yields identical blurbs from a bevy of Mexican websites. Along with the eBay entry, all these sites seem to indicate a one-man campaign to push this product.

Personally, I wouldn't risk dollars on a knock-off. I would stay with original MAHA products. Their new MAHA MH-C204W is one of the best chargers on the market, in my opinion. It does everything the Powatech claims, including the revival of hopelessly dead batteries.

Best,

Jack

IMHO, don't skimp on batteries or chargers. A bad charger can destroy good batteries, and the best charger in the world can't make inferior batteries perform.

Try this site:

I've had great success with Maha Powerex batteries, as well as Nexcell 2400's.

Sorry for the incomplete post before...

If you want to save some money and get a pretty decent charger, you may want to try a CHG2000PDSC charger from Hubgiant. It's also marketed under the name Lightning Pack 4000N. It's pretty fast, stays cool, is small and light, and doesn't require a transformer plug. Check out some reviews:

I currently own four of these chargers, in the plain vanilla CHG2000PDSC version. The last one I picked up on ebay for $20.99 (delivered) with eight AA Nexcell 2400 mAh batteries. Can't beat the price. I keep one in my camera bag just in case.
