The batteries I purchased aren't OEM copies...they're non-OEM versions of the batteries. They did not claim to be batteries from Canon. They just claimed that they would work in my camera the same as the OEMs.

Let's see...OEM battery $70...non-OEM version $5.25 (delivered). I wonder how much the seller paid for them...what do you think? $1.50...$2.00? Better than the $70 OEM?

Good luck.

I just called Canon support . The tech told me there are no new batteries for the REBEL XT yet. The only one is the one that came with the camera. There are after market batteries, for me I will not use. Good luck evrybody.

HOw infuriating, why do canon insist on charging mega bucks for their batteries....£40 pls over here!!!

Yet you go on ebay and equivalent batteries cost £5! Are we voising out warranties by using these non OEM batteries, I mean at £5 per one I don't care if a few go crap ina few months at the end of the day I can afford 8!!!

Thanks guys

Same here... and I know TONS of other people at DPREVIEW.COM that buy from them as well. I say give them the business. =o) They customer support was wonderful. Even took a P.O. Number from my college over the fax. Zipzoomfly (Whom I love), didn't even take a fax from my office.
