Hi To all, I have a Energizer 2500mah aa nihm battery that after I am done charging it shows 1.38volts(Full) After 1 only week on the shelf it drains down to .097volts all its own. The other batteries are still at 1.29 after a week. That battery seems to discharge alot faster than it should. I have tried to condition or refresh the battery but does not seem to help. Is the battery going dead or is there anything I can do? I charge my batteries in the powerex C204W Charger. This is the only battery that has done this.Thank you for your help.

Dan

The literature that comes with the batteries says something about that. I don't have it in front of me, so I'm not sure what it says, but I thought it was something like it loses 1% a day I believe. Although your scenario sounds a little more extreme than that.

Hello Dan,

It would appear that you have a bad cell.

Send the information to Energizer and ask for a replacement.

Hi ,

You did not say how old the battery is or how often you charge and use it. All batteries have a lifespan, normally indicated in number of charge-discharge cycle (noemally rated at hudreds ). If the battery is new, its a factory defect, if it is old ( a year or 2) , it may be dead.
