Hi

I've lost my Canon PowerShot S500 camera, and I'm now considering what my new camera should be. The SD550 also from Canon, do it use the same kind of batteries as the S500? I've read the specs, but I'm still not sure.

From the two links youposted, it appears that these cameras use different batteries:

The S500 uses a Lithion-ion type NB-1LH or NB1-L, with an AC adapter part number ACK500.

The SD550 uses the NB-3L battery with AC adapter ACK900. These are apparently two different batteries.

Still both adapters is a ACK-type. So the battery size could still be the same. Hmm, I will try to visit a local retailer and see if he has SD550 in stock.

I would assume that the different part numbers for the AC adapters means that they are either different voltages, or the current output is different.
