From the chart, it looks like @ least 30% more, putting it in the 2000-2300 mAh ballpark.

The key point here is not the extra power, but the in-cell-charger-circuit that'll allow theses cells to be charged in 15 minutes, the fastest so far! With current NiMh most folks get mixed results when their chargers are not matched to the batteries resulting in undercharging... and then the consumers blamed the camera instead!

From the new release it looks like they'll be releasing them in 03... but now that the cat is out, I'm pretty sure that Duracell and others will try to beat them to the punch... It's only a 5 BILLION $ market, and just like everyone here I'm anxious to get my hands on one as well!

cheap cells = cheap performance.... which is a waste of your money in the long run...... get yourself some kodac 1850's and a maha 204 charger...... made a world of difference to me......

On what standard that you define "cheap cell= cheap performance", people are looking for good buy all the times and what do you now about those cells, underneat their brand names... I used both of the Ray O Vac and the new Enegizer 1850mah, same perfomances, the Enegizers cost more. I also try the Olympus Nimh, cost a lot more, not any better. To me, the Ray O Vac will do a good decent job, plus you can recharge them within 1 hour, same as the Enegizer with their newest compact 1 hour charger, I paid $22 for the charger plus 4 batteries.

While I ended up buying a Maha 204 combo kit at another site, I was very interested in the battery pricing offered by a site on eBay. If you search on eBay for '1800 batteries' you will find a site called Pro-Source North American - they had 1800 GPs for $1.70 each (item # 1781881839) and Nexcels for $1.40 each.

After reading the 'great battery shootout' article and battery article from this site I will leave it to you if you want Nexcels. I have not bought anything from this eBayer but thought I would add to the discussion. The retailer is out of Canada (I think) so perhaps the conversion rate is making these cheaper. :?

Hope this helps! Dan

Hi from the UK

Current (no pun intended!) favourites here are the new Panasonic 2000mAH, available for 5.95 - $9 for a set of 4. I haven't done much testing with them yet but so far they outlast my GP and Kodak 1600's by a good 35% and my 1800's by about 15% which seems to indicate about a 2100mAh capacity. Only problem here is that the UK distributor for the MAHA 204 charger wants $41 for the basic 204 charger and $61 for the car/battery/charger kit.

How about the Rayovac 1-hr charger? It's much faster than my Maha... and cheaper too!

I bought some Rayovac 1800 at Target and they work great. I shot 800 photos (half with flash) and still had power left. A fully charged set (used the Maha c204 charger) has been in my camera for 6 or 7 weeks. I have taken about 100 to 150 during this time.
