Default mAH of batteries

I hope mAH indicates only the duration of charge. If we use batteries of 1800 mAH in a gadget in which earlier only batteries of 1400 mAH were used, will it affect the performance/efficiency of the gadget in any negative way?

th mah (milli ampere hour) rating is the capacity/output of the battery. in theory if a device ran say 1hr on a 1000mah battery set it should last again in theory 1.8hrs on a set of 1800mah batts at the same discharge rate. its sort of like putting a larger gas tank on your device without increasing the physical size.

No problem swapping the 1400s for 1800s, they'll simply last longer.

The device will only draw the power from the batteries that it requires, hence the device will run longer on higher rated batteries.

If you buy the bigger batteries for your gadget and then recharge them in the charger you bought for the smaller batteries - they may take proportionately longer to charge up!

PS Gib.... got the Dazzle reader with all the SCM prep utilities for different card media - happy bunny now!
