by comparison with a 4 port electronically controlled charger -> it's junk, merely a timer

a good charger charges each individual batteryindependantly to full capacity regardless of state of initial charge - it would have an individual display for each battery 'port'

your charger in question is merely a 'timer', it will eventually destroy the batteries

eg.Sony BCG-34 includes 4 - 2300mAh AA and costs $39 at Circuit City

unknown vendor, link for info only: http://lib1.store.vip.sc5.yahoo.com/...cg34hrmd4.html

there are other good chargers also

Or for 37 USD you can purchase The LP4000N and 4 Sanyo Industrial grade 2500 mAh cells. Tha charger is quick, compact and safe. The only drawback is that it charges cells in pairs. The included cells are beyond doubt the best on the market. The Energizers you talk about are most probably also rebadged Sanyo 2500 mAh cells and thus excellent, the charger however is not something worth spending money on.

I have to agree with the others, I bought it a week or two ago, and once I got it home found out it's just a timed charge, and can't tell if the batteries are fully charged or not. So, in essence, it will ALWAYS undercharge or overcharge the batteries

I took it back as soon as I could!

Batteries are great though! Probably close to top of the line!

I purchased that model from best buy. It took almost 4 hours to charge the batteries. I kept the batteries and gave the charger to a neighbor. I went back to best buy and bought the Energizer rapid 15 minute charger which came with 4 of the 2200 batteries.

This baby works... I charged 4 new 2500's in about 18 minuters. I now have 20 of the 2500's so I won't be looking at camera's with a proprietary battery.

More to add. I emailed Energizer and asked about the 2200's in their 15 minute charger and if they could charge the 2500's Their reply was yes it would work but would take a few minutes more time. Therefore I guess my 18 minutes to charge was in line..
