I'm getting a Canon A610, and I want to get an AC adapter to use with it. The official ack600 is rather expensive, and I can't really afford it at the moment. Is it safe to use one of the universal adapters from RadioShack with it? The adapter sources 4.5 volts at the closest setting, while the camera claims to want 4.3. If this isn't good enough, can someone suggest an alternative? How about the $10-something adapters from Ebay? I know don't really need the adapter because I can just keep changing and charging my NiMH AAs, but I like to be able to plug things in.

Thanks,
James.

I assume it uses two AAs which means 3V, now what official adapter gives is already higher than that so I would guess that 0.2V more shouldn't be problem, of course knowing what kind power circuitry camera has would be good. (you never know what kind tolerances they use)

But at least make sure adapter is stabilized, unstabilized adapters can give much higher voltage withotu load.
(of course it should drop to designated voltage immediately when there's load)

Slight voltage difference is OK,but make sure it is a reliable one. (stabilized output.)
