We gave our son one of those big bubble makers for Easter. As soon as the rain temporarily stopped, he went outside in the backyard and started tomake huge bubbles. I though it had good photographic potential. Here's the result.

The picture is superb and so is the bubble. But....

I thought and thought about this several times and actually went away and came back. I don't think this technically meets the challenge. It's not really water we're looking at but a soapy solution or something chemically similar.

Yes, I know I'm probably going to be slam dunked.

Yes, sea water is a saline solution, yes even pristine rainwater is laced with pollutants, but all of these tend to be predominantly water with traces of additives.

OMG!!!! That's a great shot Tullio... never seen here (Argentina) samething that makes huge bubbles...

Tullio Apr 16, 2006 11:23 PM

Thanks for allthe comments. To be honest, selvin, I did not think twice to post the picture since w/o water there would be no soapy solution. The bottle does not indicate theactual concentration of the bubble solution but I recall when I was a kid, all it took was a tiny drop of detergent mixed with a bottle of water to make bubble. Oh well, you can go ahead and delete the entry.
