Something I have been working on. I am using it to learn things. I need to do more reading, as the flash/camera is not doing what I want it to do yet.

I like the background you are using. The lighting is pretty good.

Beautiful. I would love to see what you do with it if you continue working on the concept.

Thanks Bynx, selvin, nhmom and calr. I look at these challenges as a chance to learn new things but trying to do something new. So when I was posted the photo saying that I need to read more it was because I still had more to learn to get it to look more like I wanted it to look. So after posting the photo I was still looking at how to get the equipment to work like I wanted it to. After some reading and thinking I got the flash and camera to do what I wanted. Then I could work more on the look for the lights. I have some ideas that I may work on still but for now here is a photo of what I have so far.

I like the second one, mostly because you have that one lone star over Texas where it belongs.

I like the 2nd shot - good arrangement and I bet it's not easy to light that well...

Really beautiful work. I love the way you've controlled your lighting.

A very beautiful photographic creation!
For your next trick may I suggest you substitute a suitably sized turtle as a globe support? They don't move very fast, I believe, so the same tasteful lighting setup would do. To qualify for this particular challenge it would have to stand on three legs, or perch on two others' backs. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtles_all_the_way_down |
