Good clear shots penolta. Was he this grumpy-looking before he had his bath — or only since he spotted you 'invading his privacy'?
We have a shallow birdbath that a willy-wagtail delights in at least twice each warm afternoon. Lately however a magpie has found it. He has his ablutions in the morning and goes about them with such gusto that he splashes half the water out. Cheers Bernice

Hawks and eagles have that fierce angry look because of an extra bone in the skull that projects out over the eyes to shade them from the sun's glare above; this one's bedraggled appearance contributes to the "grumpy" aspect. So, no, not grumpy before, only angry looking. thanks for looking and commenting.

Cheers penolta for sharing this series.
I like the sequence a lot, and particularly the first one. The water droplets spraying around are great! Some time ago I took a similar series of photo of a bird taking a bath in the bird bath in my back yard (through my bedroom window) - but it didn't turn out too good due to: a) me being a bit too far away and b) the distortion of the glass in my bedroom window. So I congratulate you! Cheers Paul |
