I took both these pictures a couple of days ago. My thistle socks and tube feeders attract a lot of goldfinches and tons of house finches. Recently we are seeing so many of the house finch babies--they are so little and totally cute with their fluffy baby feathers.

Good thing you mentioned it was a juvenile otherwise I would have said the bird is having a bad hair day...but junior is excused.
