Phil, thank you, that would be great — an on-screen tute is just what I need. If I can see the tool you use from PS Elements I can find it in my pp program. Appreciated.
Glad you like it Wizz. Cheers Bernice

Hi Bernice
Nice capture of a rare bird indeed. I've heard a lot about a lyre-bird, and only seen one once, at a wildlife park many years ago. It's great that folks on these forums can help each other in many ways. Thanks for sharing. Paul |

Thank you Paul. Apparently there are at least three at the Adelaide Zoo (according to some web info I looked up a few months ago). I had never seen a lyrebird in-the-flesh until winter last year when we were 'exploring' the Wollomombi Falls area in the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park about 40 kms from Armidale. Now we're hooked and look forward to the cold winter weekend mornings.
Cheers Bernice

G'day Bernice
You ask for a qwik tute showing a simple fix for the colour imbalance for the 1st Lyrebird image. As the image has a heavy blue cast, we need to play with the Blue & Red layers of the RGB image [red being opposite to blue on the colour wheel] Opening Elements and calling up the Levels screen gives me the histogram for both the RGB 'whole image' and choices of each channel - ie- Red vs Green vs Blue When I look at the Red channel, I see ... [ps note that the preview box in the lower-right is ticked 'on'] In other words - the image is 'centred' across the screen meaning that it's well exposed ... it's just awful-damn-blue from early morning shady colours dominating ![]() We need to down-play the "blue-end" of the red channel on the RHS end ... so we now reduce the value of 255 ... click the cursor into the '255' box and use the cursor down-arrow button to take it down/up to whatever looks best on the screen ... click okay when happy ![]() Now repeat this for the Blue channel ... ![]() This time we are playing with the "red-end" of the blue channel on the LHS end ... so again with the cursor up/down keys, we play with the image again... again click okay when happy So we end up with an image that will never be 'perfect' but which will become 'acceptably' close Hope this helps Regards, Phil

Thank you very much indeed Phil. I have made a PDF of your qwik tute and will take it home to try out tonight. I have some wedding photos taken by Mark that have a yellow cast (from the sunlight through the marquee). Might be able to do something with those too.
Yes, corkpix, that's a great snip from David Attenborough. We've had the video for years. Cheers Bernice
