Default Churches and Graveyards Pretty Archive.

One many churches in American Samoa.

Byodo-In Temple in the Valley of the Temples near Kaheohe on Oahu Hawaii.

Rucker family crypt near Everett Washington. This is much bigger then it looks. To give some scale from the grass the the top of the platform the pyramid is sitting on is about 5 feet.

Painting is an additive art. The artist adds to the canvas until they stop with their version of reality. Digital photography is subtractive art. First we throw away 90 percent of reality then remove what is left bit by bit until we have only the reality we wish to show. Flickr is like fun. PPG is like work. A camera is a machine of light and time with the purpose of capturing a luminous moment. Like the eye it is a tool of the mind.

Great shots. I recognized the Byodo-In temple immediately. My wife and I got to tour it about three or four years ago courtesy of Selvin and his wife (Thank you).

That first image is fantastic. The low clouds, wet stone and bright white of the church really works, especially with the color contrast of the steeple.
