Default Circles and Triangles: Beat the drum slowly

These shots were taken at a Japanese cultural exhibition. There were "taiko" (drum) demonstrations. The beating of the "taiko" is classical traditional Japanese art form. Its popularity in modern times is credited to a revival in the early 1950s. The Japanese taiko form is the most commonly shown. Some of the taiko drums can exceed over 2 meters in diameter. They are made from a single tree trunk and weigh a lot. However, the Okinawan form uses smaller drums and te drummers are more mobile.
