Here are a couple archive shots.

The first was shot last summer on US 101 on the central Oregon Coast. I have no idea what caused this cloud formation. About ten minutes after this was shot, that fog bank in the distance covered everything. About 30 minutes later the fog was gone. Wierd!!

This shot was taken about three years ago off the coast of Kona on the big island of Hawaii.

Very cool, that first photo looks like a million con trails all together, I don't think I have ever seen anything like it, great work!

Hi Cal,

Both shots are so vivid and interesting, yet so different.

Shows why cloud shots are a good topic for the biweekly shoot out!

Thanks for sharing.... and giving us a good challenge.

As a youth I used to spend endless hours looking at clouds. The jJni Mitchell song "Both Sides Now," beautifully rendered by several artists keeps remeinding me of the art of cloud viewing:

Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They rain and they snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way
Joni Mitchell.

Very nice shots. The first one reminds me of the Steven King Movie "The Fog", The second is very dramatic. The colors are great
