Here are two shots from the archives. The first is a fleet of concrete transports waiting to go to work and the second is a group of surfboards available for rent at Waikiki Beach.

Looking at your second shot I thought it was a shower curtain hanging up. Your first shot I dont think meets the requirements, in my opinion. There isnt enough yellow and too much of everything else. The idea is that the photo is supposed to be dominately one complete color.

I asked my daughter what she thought the second picture was and without any prompting from me she quickly said it was a shower curtain. That would be a good pic in an abstract post. No indication what it is by what we see. Thats a good deceptive shot.

Nice pictures Cal.
If you hadn't told me I'm not sure I ever would have guessed what the second one was. |

Cal,
You were a busy little devil while in Waikiki. I can recall that surfboard pattern while walking Waikiki. My guess is that the rental companies use these "bizarre" patterns because no true surfer would be caught dead with them thus they are not worth stealing. Love the composition and interpretation. Yes, I too thought it might have been a shower curtain on first blush. The first shot as others have noted is marginal and your replacement submission in red more than meets the requirements. Aloha |
