No, it's not what you thought. This is the first version of an automotive air conditioner. Basically, it allows outside air to be forced through the unit which, I believe, was water-cooled. This is mounted on a 1950 Chevrolet. Taken this past Friday at a local car show.

These were popular back in the 50's and 60's but I always thought both ends were open. Anyway, although not spectacular from an artistic point of view, it definitely fits the challenge.

This is more what I had in mind when I criticized the mellow yellow hot rod. A close up shot so the color is really predominant. However, your shot must also be followed be an overall shot so we can all salivate over the beauty of these metal and rubber sculptures.
