I think someone should fix this leaking standpipe. I was by again recently and it is still dripping, very slowly.
![]() I didn't take these in this order. I was trying to get the second frame, but it was actually the third of the useable pictures. This turned out to be much harder than I had expected. |

Mtngal,
It's funny isn't it that what appears to be the simplest things sometimes require the most effort. Your patience paid off. |

Mtngal, can't you do what the little Dutch boy did to stop the leak in dike?--Stick your finger on it. Nice sequence of shots.

Part of my problem was that I was hand-holding, trying to focus on a spot that moves with a manual focus lens, and then trying to time the shot so the drip would be the biggest it could be before falling. I tried it recently with a tripod and macro focusing rails and it was easier, though still frustrating.
P.S. Cal, do you suppose I should call someone and tell them they need to fix it? My finger would help for a while but not for long. I was actually surprised to see it still dripping when I went back about a month later as I thought someone would have spotted it before now. |

From the looks of it, my guess is that faucet will leak forever or until the water runs out!

Guess I'll check to see if its dripping next week and call it in if it is. It's not going to run out of water any time soon, it's a fire sprinkler standpipe hooked up to city water, located at the top of a parking structure. I'm surprised that someone hasn't already fixed it.

I would not touch that faucet. The funny thing is that the pipe beneath it looks in good shape/newer but the faucet looks like if may crumble if you touch it.
