Somebody forgot to shut the water off! This a fountain at a local McDonalds. The water comes out at the top of the three columns and dribbles down the sides.

Cal,
For some reason everything looks odd to me. The palms are green yet the water is frozen. Am I missing something? Wherever this is I don't want to be. |

Definitely an ooops. Looks like a pretty hard freeze, too. Broken pipes, too? Maybe they left it on hoping the pipes wouldn't freeze (used to do that in Texas on occasion, leave a hose trickling in the barn so the water wouldn't freeze). It worked there but I don't think it ever got THAT cold!

It appears that the only time they shut this fountain off is when some idiot dumps a bottle of detergent into the pool. It freezes a couple times each year.
Selvin, if you look closely, you will see that the trunks of the palm trees are wrapped in plastic sheeting. Apparently, that's all the protection they need from the cold temperatures. The location is about 10 miles west of Portland. Cal

Nice capture. As for the palms, I think they are always green despite the cold weather. Unless, of course, they are dead.
