These shots are just that.....coffee poured in a glass and the bubbles that were created.

Very creative. I never cease to be amazed at what you come up with. The only complaint I have about both of these shots is the narrow depth of field. When shooting extreme closup macro shots, DOF can narrow down to just a small fraction of an inch. It is important to stop the lens down as much as you can. The resulting slow shutter speed demands the use of a sturdy tripod.
Another factor affecting the sharpness of the shot is the motion of the bubbles. If the bubbles are really active, you might have to compromise on the small aperture setting. If the bubbles are not moving, then the above comments apply fully. Bynx, I'm sure you know all about this. My comments are more for the less experienced people in the group. Cal |

Anytime good information is posted its beneficial for all those who care to read it and perhaps learn from it. As for the bubbles, I used a close up lens attached to my S700. This makes my DOF even smaller. The bubbles moved and continuously exploded. Capturing the big ones was the hardest as they were the first to go. My fstop was 5.6 at 1/3 sec. I should have closed up to 13.6 and increased my time to get more DOF. It was a final couple of shots I noticed after shooting 380 photos of me pouring coffee.
