10min earlier than my other L.Doon images, I'd been in the open and setting sun at the dam itself.

...but just a few yards downstream, there are signs of laminar flow over a little weir, in contrast to the fierce turbulence above.

Alan,

The laminar flow shot reminds me of shots showing water flowing over various water wheels. Not quite smooth but certainly as you said not as turbulent as rapids.
