Here is my first picture for Fluidity. It's funny, I watched this board for awhile and now I look forward to the next challenge. I might have one more to post tonight. I made this one a bit to small, but it still looks ok.
As far as technical vs creative, i find it hard to have one without the other. Each picture may be more creative or technical, but they almost always include both. |

Nice shot anm8ed. I like moving water with a long shutter speed. Again technical vs creative.....Is a great looking shot of a sunset, or special moment creative at all? You point the camera and click the shutter. Pretty technical. Its the event which is completely out of the photographers control which he just captures. You pointed this out Anm8ed since Cal asked in my thread of drops of water. That is completely creative since I am creating the event. Object in play, lighting, focus, colors -- all aspects of the photo are by my hand. Every picture is technical. But not every picture is creative.

Very nice. I like all the little waterfalls that draw your attention to look at each one.

Just my two cents worth here, To me, pictures which are set up to catch a specific action (water drops, posing models, etc) is definitely creative. I also think that a picture taken of a building, tree, waterfall or any other object can be creative by using a unique angle or effect. Just because one did not create the subject does not make it a snapshot.
Just my opinion:| Mugmar |

My opinion - It still takes the creativity of the person to "see" the shot. Sometimes one is just luckyto be able to just point and shoot and get a fantastic shot. But, it took their creative mind to know it was going to be good.
(Don't mind me, it's the drugs I'm on tonight. I know what I'm trying to say. Just can't seem to have it make sense.) |
