Our neighbor has a persimmon tree which bears its fruit this time of year. Some of its branches hangs over our fence, so I took advantage for the sake of this challenge (of course).

Native to China, the persimmon can be sweet, but only after achieving the consistency of jelly (from what I've read). Here's one halved.

Nice shot of the persimmon. Let me tell you, from experience, if you have ever bitten into an unripe persimmon, you would KNOW!! that you should wait for it to ripen. Talk about pucker power.....NOTHING compares to it!! NOTHING!!

I don't eat the stuff but my wife does and she also says wtch out for unripe fruit, the pucker is something else.
