Snark is a word I associate with Lewis Carroll:
``Just the place for a Snark!'' the Bellman cried, As he landed his crew with care; Supporting each man on the top of the tide By a finger entwined in his hair. ``Just the place for a Snark! I have said it twice: That alone should encourage the crew. Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice: What I tell you three times is true.'' The poem is much longer, but not my memory, I'm afraid. However, I do know what this is, I'll be silent and let others guess. ![]()

Well, that didn't take long at all.
It is a cool little widget for precisely tuning a guitar. BTW, I hadn't heard that poem b4, thanks. ![]() Zig

Cool picture! Wish I had had one of those things when I was trying to learn how to play the guitar as a kid. I don't have a good ear and the sound differences between a tuning pipe and a guitar string always distracted me and I couldn't tell the difference sometimes. So my guitar was usually out of tune. Needless to say, I wasn't very good and gave up trying to play or sing any type of music quickly, preferring to enjoy the music others create.

Hi Vanessa,
Trust me when I tell that one of my talents is most definitely NOT playing the guitar. I'm a frustrated player of 60's & 70's music. And, like Leslie mentioned, I too, should enjoy other peoples music and leave the guitar alone. Zig

Lewis Carroll would probably be very amused by this mysterious looking object being named after one of his most famous literary inventions.
Great lighting to avoid in highlights. Kudos to Philby for solving the puzzle. |
