When the sun is directly overhead, is supposed to be a bad time for photography, but being straight into the petals gives nice effect to the base of the flower.

Great depth of field, sharpness and exposure. The off-center positioning of the subject adds interest to the shot.

Nice one brian!
Such flowers (3D rose) can be quite difficult to capture well, but you did a good job on dof and exposure, as calr has said. Maybe a slightly more blurred background could have even been better... but I still think it's great. Paul |

Funny thing is with the flash on, in bright sunlight, I get the greatest background, black!
edited to add that I do not like PP. Um, mainly because it frustrates me...most I do is is brighten or darken. No matter how hard I try I haven't figured out layers! So, figure it is easier to shoot it right or forget it. Sigh. Last edited by lisalonewolf; Jan 12, 2011 at 2:55 PM. |
