I saw something like this elsewhere and thought it was rather interesting.
![]() Thought how the glass reflected/refracted the background rather neat. |

Great idea. The only thing I think I would have changed is to crop out the blue stripe on the right side.

Thanks. When I did the background I didn't realize how it would look here. There's an extra white stripe on the left and the blue one on the right. If you look at the picture on a black or dark grey background it looks fine. Posted here, with the light background, the white stripe gets completely lost and the extra blue stripe makes it look completely unbalanced. I now think I should crop closer and get rid if the two extra stripes. The background is my computer screen and a graphic I quickly made with a couple of lines and photoshop's bucket tool to fill in between them, then copied several times. The hard part was to figure out how I could get the glass at the appropriate height, my workstation is limited space-wise.

I second Cal's comments. Very neat shot.

This is a neat shot. I wouldn't take anything out - if you removed the blue on the right, you'd have to remove the white on the left. It's all about symmetry. I like the way the reflections in the glass reverse the colors of the background. Cool.

I don't understand the comment. I see three stripes, blue, white and blue. The glass is positioned right between the left blue stripe and the middle white stripe. They are symmetric. The right blue stripe however, serves no purpose (unless, of course, I'm seeing something different).

Ah, the white left stripped fooled me...I did not see it as part of the picture (and I'm sure the same happened to Cal). So, I'd then remove both left and side stripes leaving only the two shared by the glass.
