Your shot reminded me of a shot I did of the same thing. But I used the symmetry of the shape by shooting from the top.

Nice job. Can you post the EXIF data? In particular, I would like to know your white balance setting. I suspect you either had it set for auto or fluorescent. If it were set sunlight, the photo would have a greenish tinge. However, I think the colors in Bynx's photo have nothing to do with white balance!

Not so Cal. The only monkeying I did to the photo was adding the blue background. The bluish look I got from the bulb was by adjusting white balance.
