This year my daughter decorated the tree all by herself. I wonder if she was giving me a hint she wanted help with her school science project on electricity.

I dont know about helping her with her project, but I like where she put the On/Off switch. What a great idea for old folks with bad backs. I have to climb under the tree to turn the lights off.

Lol! Love it! Bynx, we have a cord that has a "button" type switch that rests on the floor. You turn it on by stepping (gently) on it. No more leaning down.

We have a special cord that has a triple plug to plug the lights into and then the cord extends about another three feet to a miniature tree "ornament" that has a toggle switch on the bottom. This hangs on the tree and makes it very easy to switch the lights on/off without being obvious.
Believe it or not, this was sold by Avon cosmetics about fifteen years ago. They sold it only one year and then withdrew it from the market. I suspect that safety concerns prompted the withdrawal. It has a fairly light weight cord and could easily be overloaded. I never plug more that two strings of lights into it. Cal |

I think your daghter may be on to something. A switch to turn on the tree...fantastic! And there...is her science project.

Thanks guys.
Bynx, I know what you mean. It's getting hard for me to get up from the floor. Getting down to the floor is easy. ![]() I usually use a timer on the cord so the lights come on at 6pm and go off at 11pm. |
