My home town of Mount Shasta in northern California nestled below 14,179 foot Mount Shasta. The pink is a phenomenon called Alpine Glow that occurs at sunset. For real, not processed.

The color on the mountain is nice in itself but with the lights from the city below it gives scale to just how large and impressive the mountain is... Nice image...! ![]() |

I have only seen the mountain during the day in summertime and it did not look nearly so good.

The shot for the Home Sweet Home is from high up Castle Lake road about three miles from my house. The shot below is from my back yard with an incredible cloud display.
