Ive posted 3 shots for this one. The first shows my setup. I used a toy Yoda sitting on 2 filter cases which is sitting on my laptop. I played a Star Wars movie and filled the screen with a nice pic from the movie. I then shot normally with a flash but exposed for the monitor which gave me a long exposure time. I shot the flash through 4 pieces of toilet paper. Yoda came out on the whitish side with the monitor having a proper exposure. The final shot is with a red plastic cd holder with 2 pieces of toilet paper sandwiched between the front and back of the case. Same settings and now Yoda has a reddish glow on him while the monitor remains relatively unscathed by the flash. All 3 photos are untouched except for a bit of unsharp mask and resizing to fit.

Hey Bynx,
I like the effect here. It looks as if one of the suns in setting ![]() Mugmar |

Thanks Mugmar. I have a few ideas for mixing and matching colored cellophane on the flash and lens to see the efffect. I know some combinations will give some unusual unexpected results.

Like the look of the red glow and your way is cheaper than using flash gels too.
