Before going to shoot a local historical landmark I cleaned my uv filter. Thinking it had had enough time to dry, I put it back on the lens. It was a humid day, and while looking through the viewfinder I noticed the image was a little hard to see. I first thought it was the sun shining in my eyes. After reviewing a couple of shots on the LCD, I noticed the pictures were very foggy. I looked at the lens and noticed that moisture had built upon the center of the filter:O So totally by accident I got this shot. I like the way the moisture is just circled around the house.

A very ghostly effect. Makes me wonder what it looks like in B&W....

I guess we can call that the accidental filter! You never know when something like that will happen. In this case, you were ready and took advantage of the fogging. Normally when my lens fogs up, I get very upset because I have to wait ten or fifteen minutes for it to clear. A number of years ago we vacationing in Victoria, B.C. and we went to visit the Butterfly Garden. It was about 50° F outside with low humidity. Inside the garden the environment is maintained at about 85° F and 90% humidity. The lady at the door warned me that my lenses would fog up and remain fogged until they warmed up. Everything I had fogged up and it took about 20 minutes before I could shoot!

I love it. It's a great accidental shot and would be worth trying on purpose.
