Came across this friendly little guy grazing in the tall grass in the Smoky Mountains about a month ago. It was a real treat to be able to watch him for about 10 minutes before he wondered off into the woods.

Like the picture, well done. However the last time I had an encounter with a bear it just about totaled my car by running across the road. And the car, traveling at about 50 mph at 4:30 am, didn't kill it - it must have run off as the highway patrol didn't find it along the road.

I was about to write that we don't have many bears in Chicago, but then I realized that we have quite a few of them... |
