I was out behind my house this morning when I saw this couple in the power line cut a hundred or so yards away. Mom wasn't going to take her eyes off me, but Junior quickly got tired of looking at the man with the long lens on the next hill.

(The fawn blended so naturally with the ground cover that I initially didn't even see him and only realized he was there when I reviewed my first shot. Taken with a Bigma at 500mm + 1.4 teleconverter.)

Nice one Paul,

It seems a bit soft, but I'm guessing that has a lot to do with the extreme focal length and haze in the air. I just got a Kenko 1.5X to add to my 100-400L and get the same result (softness) in low light/contrast. But the extra distance is great!!!!

Here's a quick refocus, just for you (image is a bit small for such things, but there are so many nice details there (fur, grass...) it's for sure worth the effort).
