I scouted out a jewelry box for some possible items for this challenge and was struck by the challenge of holding focus on an intricate curved surface. This was taken with a goose-necked fluorescent bulb for lighting, with a slight directional adjustment on the lighting in PSE.

Pentax K20d, Tamron 28-75mm Di LD Macro with stacked 20 & 12mm extension tubes...all settings manual....ISO 1600...f/16.0...1/13sec....handheld with SR on.

Second shot is taken outside with basically the same set-up....

School ring, class of 73.
Carving of an indian elephant done in the island if the Phillipines by an artist named Rikki. From the angle of the cuts Id say it was carved at night during a rain storm, perhaps a monsoon.
