Magic/Golden Hour-At Milford Lake
2 Attachment(s)
I'm NOT an early morning person, but when I have managed to drag myself up at dawn I'm pleased at the softness of the countryside around my home.
These are two of my favorite pictures taken shortly after sunrise at one of the coves of Milford Lake. It was a (rare!) calm morning with just the right amount of clouds.

Just gorgeous. Where is Milford Lake?

It's in Central Kansas, about 120 miles west of Kansas City. Milford is a Corps of Engineers project, built in the 1960's. It has about 120 miles of shoreline, and is a beautiful blue water lake. Wonderful fishing, lots of campgrounds and great for boating as well. It is near the end of the Republican River, which is largely a sandy river, so there are a number of natural sandy beach areas. It is a couple of miles from where I live.

Hi spedangie...

I love both shots, perhaps the 1st one is more 'moody' and the 2nd more serene (to me).

The reflections and soft light in both are great!

Thanks for sharing your neck of the woods (Kansas city is USA, right?... ha ha)

I'll soon share some from here (Australia). :)
