Off the coast of Huntington Beach are a couple of oil drilling platforms which, I suppose, is necessary to feed our addiction. Hopefully the old sun will provide more of our energy needs in the future. C&C welcome.

I like the way the strata of the clouds make it look like a brush was taken to the sky but the reflection off the handrail(?) in the sand is a little distracting to me.

Love the way the Sun looks in that shot. Never was a fan of the drilling rigs, though you did make them look good.

Nice shot Walter. Excellent DR with this one
Let's hope those rigs stay upright unlike the one that had the unfortunate accident in the gulf. |

Wow just love this shot, the sun looks hugh, never seems that big here on the east coast.

Reminds me of my surfing days - like the poster shot of the movie Endless Summer. Great catch, good memories.

Walter,
Great control of the light. Always appreciate seeing folks in sunset pictures sometimes. Aloha |

Looking at the shot again, after watching the news about the oil spill in the Gulf, it worries me that it could happen here as well. And, that disaster so soon after the mine disaster in West Virginia. Clearly companies are more interested in profit than the workers' (or the public's) safety. Very troubling, eh?
