I need to use an archive as it is still snowing in Mount Shasta. We're not going to see blue or gold for a while. Went down to fish at the Upper Sacramento last summer at sunset and found this.

That almost looks like a color negative that suffered a light leak in the camera. Would you please tell us what is going on here. The color is too yellow to be from the sunset. Is something being reflected in the water?

The sun was going down through a narrow canyon. No tricks, just an amazing golden moment.

It looks like a lake of molten precious metals. I didn't know that sun could do that!
The only part that seems a bit strange to me is at the top where the yellow is coloring the plant growth on the far bank. I'm scrolling my screen and "chopping off" that part, and I like the pic a lot more when I do that. Mike |

I think Mike is right if you block out the foliage the image is an excellent abstract using the golden hues and of the sunset and wonderful timing for the fluidity of the water.

Actually, I made a version cropping out the plants, but then the bushes in the water seemed out of place, so I cloned them out. It seemed like way too much and left out where the green reflections were coming from, but here it is. Thanks for the feedback.

The gold looks like someone poured gold paint in the water.
