This morning I was playing with a couple of things in the front yard--primarily using remote shutter release and a tripod for closeups of birds. I tried a few shots for the Near/Far challenge just for the mechanics. Distance to my wife's Jeep was about 8 feet, 10-12 feet to the dog, 25 feet to the tripod/bird feeder, and 150 feet or so to the tree tops. This was using the Pentax K10d and a Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 lens. Settings were f22, 1/200, -0.3 EV, and ISO 1250. Now, I'm going to go find something interesting to shoot.

Well, it looks like you got the mechanical stuff OK. Now show us some photos of what you learned from this exercise!

Paul,
I think your dog is saying the same thing. Let's get this show on the road. Aloha |
